Geocache Description:

In reviewing the days we need for the 366 challenge, we realized we hadn’t found a cache on Christmas, New Years Eve, or Valentine’s Day. I guess we were just too busy doing normal holiday activities on those days that we didn’t think to look for a cache. So the question is, how many of you have left behind family, friends, and loved ones to cache on holidays and how many of you spend your holidays engaged in other endeavors. Now, just because you have every day filled in for the 366 challenge doesn’t mean that you automatically qualify for this challenge unless you did it in 366 straight days. While some holidays are fixed dates, like New Year's, Valentine’s Day, and Christmas, other holidays move from year to year, like Memorial Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving. We know there are many more holidays we could have chosen from, but we consider these the big ones, ones meant to be family holidays, and one state holiday peculiar to Nebraska. The cache is at the listed coordinates. To log this cache you will need to first fulfill the following THREE requirements: You must have found at least one cache on each of the identified holidays (it can be any year as long as at the time of finding the cache it was a holiday) Sign the log on this cache. When you log this cache as a find, you must include the following: Holiday, Cache GC#, and Date found. Logs not meeting the stated criteria will be deleted. If you have not yet fulfilled the requirement of finding a cache on the posted holidays, you can still sign the log, but you cannot claim a smiley until you have met the criteria of finding a cache on each of the identified holidays. Caches can be found in any state or country to meet the Holiday criteria. The date is more important than the location. First to find goes to the person/team who has physically signed the log and found a cache on each of the holidays listed below. New Year's Day—January 1 **MLK Day—Third Monday in January Valentine’s Day—February 14 **President’s Day—Third Monday in February St Patrick’s Day—March 17 **Easter Sunday (date varies), first Sunday after the first ecclesiastical full moon after the vernal equinox April Fool’s Day—April 1 **Arbor Day—Last Friday in April **Mother’s Day—Second Sunday in May **Memorial Day—Last Monday in May **Father’s Day—Third Sunday in June Independence Day—July 4 **Labor Day—First Monday in September **Columbus Day—Second Monday in October Halloween—October 31 Veteran’s Day—November 11 **Thanksgiving Day—Fourth Thursday in November Christmas Eve—December 24 Christmas Day—December 25 New Year’s Eve—December 31 **NOTE: You will need to provide the year and date you found a cache on the marked holidays as they change from year to year based on the calendar. Check www.holidaysmart.com to help identify the date of the holiday in any given year.
