About 5 months after we started geocaching, and in the middle of
a Northern Wisconsin winter, it became obvious to us that this
"Newbie" cacher named WOODY1 and his sidekick BIOTREKER were on a
serious mission! They had logged upwards of 120 caches OVER THE
WINTER!!!
We finally met them both at the Weenie Roast, Cheezehead's first
one in April of 2009. We all immediately enjoyed their company and
geo-stories. Especially the story of Woody1 going out one winter
day to geocache on snowshoes and after crossing a ravene or
riverbed coming upon a fresh deer kill surrounded by WOLF tracks.
YIKES! Running on snowshoes does not go well. Another great story
is of WOODY1 and BIOTREKER going on a quick cache run to nab some
first to finds, Thanks to Scott543, the one cache was across the
Ounce River. Well, Woody knew he needed to cross the river, and not
wanting to get his clothes wet, (they were on their way to a
Birthday Party) he just took off everything and crossed the raging
stream "Woody Style!"
One spring Loony Lori and I, (GramaCindy) were on our annual
spring break geo-trip to Sante Fe, NM, and spent one whole evening
posting back and forth some funny stories of geocaching while
sharing long distance cocktails via FaceBook. What a hoot! Many
others of you joined in as well and it was an evening to
remember!
Since then we have had MANY wonderful memories with Woody1 and
Biotreker!
HERE'S TO YOU GUYS!
