The Porat-Malinska footpath Traditional Cache

Unfortunately there's been some continuing issues with this cache and there is no reaction from the owner. Since the cache no longer meets the Guidelines requirements, I am archiving it. I'm also archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements.

If you think you have legitimate reasons for lack of maintenance and want to restore the cache in the near future, please let me know as soon as possible by the email provided in my profile. The message must include the GC code and the name of the cache. If the cache meets the requirements of the Guidelines and the reasons for unarchiving are justified, I may unarchive the cache.

IMPORTANT:
In case of permanent archiving of the cache, the owners are obliged to remove everything that they have placed on the field in relation to the cache (container and all placed waypoints).

Geocache Description:

The cache has been muggled and therefore has been moved to a more quiet place along the path, half way from Malinska to Porat (or vice versa) You can still visit it's former coordinates at N 45° 07.578 E 014° 31.595 since there is a beautiful promenade. The cache is placed for your holiday Travel Bug and Geocoin exchange.

Malinska is a little picturesque town on the north-west side of the island of Krk in the scenic bay facing Opatija and Rijeka. Malinska abounds in vegetation, coves and beaches which are known by the crystal clear Adriatic Sea. Climatic conditions are ideal; for it is protected from strong winds, especially in winter.

Every year on July 23 the traditional "Malinskarska Night" takes place (Croatian: Malinskarska noc) — the day of the municipality and the feast of Saint Apollinaris, patron saint of the parish and settlement.

Some of the town’s sights are the beautiful promenade along the sea with the recently reconstructed laundry place called Jaz. A few hundred meters from the city center there is the St. Apolinar parish church in Bogovici which dates back to 1857.

Our favorite here is the footpath that runs along the shore from Porat to Malinska and offers beautiful evening and night walks. You can start wherever you want and follow it in any direction since there is Malinska on one end and the ancient fisherman port village Porat with the famous monastery on the other side of the path. The path is 4.8km long and it takes about an hour in each direction. Some parts are paved some are not and the same goes for the illumination but every year there is something new. Even though there are approx. 10 stairs and one beach with deep sand, we’ve done it many times with a stroller.

The cache is hidden about half way from Malinska to Porat (or vice versa). If careful you can easily take the cache unspotted. Just try to avoid the early evening hours when every one goes for a walk :) The cache size is regular and is therefore suitable for your holiday travel bug and geocoin exchange.
