Geocache Description:

A country drive by. The cache is a turtle container.

The communities of Cefn Cribbwr, Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Aberbaiden and Pen-y-Bryn were founded on coal. Deep and drift mines, such as Bryndu, Pentre, Newlands, Aberbaiden and Parc Slip, employed many local workers.

Now this is what we have - opencast mining which is the worst kind of mining - on the surface for all to see, hear, feel, breathe and suffer. It is NOT mining but quarrying. It provides few jobs and damages the environment.

As a miner's daughter, I do not like this, particularly as it is expected to continue on to Margam.

When setting this cache as we pulled up in the car a horse in the field came up to say hello to us so next time we will take some apples with us
