Biserica de lemn din Somesu Rece, judetul Cluj, este considerata monument istoric si are hramul "Pogorârea Duhului Sfânt".
Anul constructiei nu se cunoaste cu exactitate, dar pe unul din stâlpii de la poarta de intrare se poate descifra anul 1719. Dupa inscriptia situata în altar se cunoaste însa anul în care ea a fost pictata, 1768, an în care documentele spun ca satul era locuit de 14 familii de români. În turnul acestei bisericute, se gaseste un mic clopot inscriptionat cu anul 1642, dând de înteles ca ar fi fost posibil sa mai fi existat si o alta biserica tot din lemn, care ar fi fost arsa de contropitori.
Construita din lemn de brad, prins în „cheotoare nemteasca”, pe talpi de stejar, cu fundament de piatra si acoperita cu sindrila, biserica de lemn de la Somesul Rece se pastreaza si astazi ca punct de atractie pentru turisti.
Sindrila a fost înlocuita în 2010, când s-au amenajat si rigole pentru scurgerea apei de pe versantul din spatele bisericii.
În biserica se slujeste doar de hram, la Rusalii, în rest monumentul fiind nefolosit.
Biserica se afla pe noua lista a monumentelor istorice din Romania sub codul LMI: CJ-II-m-B-07764.

The Somesul Rece (Cold Somes) wooden church, in the county of Cluj, is considered a historical monument and is dedicated to "Pentecost".
Year of construction is not known exactly, but on one of the pillars of the gate, we can decipher the year 1719. After an inscription located in the shrine we know the year in which it was painted in 1768, when the village was inhabited, documents say, by 14 Romanian families. In the tower of this church, a small bell is engraved with the year 1642, hinting that it was possible to be there another church of wood, which had been burned by invaders.
Constructed of pine wood caught in "cheutoare nemteasca" (“german lacing”) on the soles of oak, with stone foundation and covered with shingles, wooden church from Somesul Rece is still preserved today as a tourist attraction.
Shingle was replaced in 2010, when they have arranged gutters to drain water from the slope behind the church.
In the church the service is held only at Pentecost, the rest of the time the monument useless.
