RAF Station Beaulieu was a World War II airfield in the New Forest, Hampshire, England. It was also known as Beaulieu airfield, Beaulieu aerodrome and USAAF Station AAF 408. It is located approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) west of the village of Beaulieu and 5 miles (8.0 km) east-northeast of Lymington. Today the remains of the airfield are on heathland managed by the Forestry Commission. A small remaining area of the old runway is often used as a flying area for model aircraft. This now tranquil corner of the New Forest was once home to RAF Consolidated Liberators, Typhoons, Halifaxs and later USAAF P-47 Thunderbolts and B-26 Marauders. There were over 2000 servicemen based here. It's hard to imagine now as very little remains of the airfield.
Parking is available at Beaulieu Heath N50 48.117, W001 29.487 but watch out for pot holes as you drive in.

I thought it would be fun to stock the cache with some themed 'swaps' so you will find the cache contains WWII replica documents (ration book, evacuation card etc) Enjoy sorting through the cache - help yourself and leave some swaps. I'll try and restock periodically to keep the theme going. Please ensure cache is well hidden.
