A homage to the now off-Island Happy Humphrey, so assume nothing!
Park close to the cache, no nettles, no briars, no gorse, no barbed wire need be negotiated. I can't make it easier!
Please note, neither trees nor animals were treated with any cruelty to manufacture this cache. Don't ask me about family members.
Version 4.
Having carried out experiments involving magnetism and motor vehicles Hill-man has moved nearer to a potential winter camp-site. After a chilly winter in a valley above Ballaugh, and an exploration of the upper regions of Laxey's valleys, he has decided a more southerly wintering place might be more congenial. He has explored the Cringle Plantation, looking for camp-sites, food supplies, and water. The nearby reservoir will serve the latter need, some of the ruins in the plantation will make a base, unfortunately he still cannot find the Roundtable cafe/restaurant, so home cooking may be required. There's LOTS of wood about for fuel. A diet of wood pidgeon and rabbit, from the fields below, supplemented with fish from the reservoir, (licence obtained), will soon become monotonous, visits to Colby shop will be needed. The Whisky Run having been found to be a misnomer, ( no whisky, just lots of water running down after rain ) supplies will have to carried in!
The cache you are seeking is close to the boundary, it is as described a nano, quite close to the entrance, and shouldn't be too difficult. It is not a micro hanging in the branches, and is not magnetic. It is tiny, and contains only the logsheet, so remember a pencil/pen and tweezers in case you happen to stumble upon it. If you proceed further into the plantation beware of mountain bikers, their tracks are obvious, but they hunt in deadly silence, as I found out when surveying the area.
Use the second parking area after the reservoir, going west. Due to the trees the GPS position may wander slightly as the atmospheric conditions change, but not by more than a few yards.
