The park is open from 8 am - dusk (except for weekends from Memorial day through mid October when they are open from 9 am - dusk).
The cache is not at the posted coordinates, they will bring you to the area near the Nature Center and most other buildings.
Hoyt Farm Park is a park with a variety of activities including a Nature Center, Water Playground, Museum, Nature Trail and lots of area to have a picnic, play and hike.
This little search will take you around part of the Nature Trail and Hoyt Farm Park about 2.5 to 3 miles. All the information can be obtained without entering any buildings. There are more buildings and structures around and behind those shown on the map.
Hoyt Farm is open to Smithtown Residents year round. Nonresidents are permitted in the park but are not allowed to park in the park.
**Between Labor Day and Memorial Day and throughout the year there may not be anyone at the front gate. Nonresident vehicles may be issued a summons, so parking is at your own risk**
A map of the park can be obtained from the Town of Smithtown website:
I hid this in the middle of July. There is poison ivy and a few sticker plants in the area but they can be safely navigated around. The area off the path has minimal undergrowth although it is hilly. The cache is about 160ft. off of a path
