Geocache Description:

This cache brings you to a part of Newry called Albert's Basin. At the cache site there is a small marina/walkway along the canal and the Quays Shopping Centre/cinema are just across the road

The Albert Basin site is located in William Street, Newry City. Situated between the Newry Canal and Clanrye River, this extensive City Centre site (circa 15 acres) has a pivotal location within the heart of Newry and on the Euroroute connecting Belfast and Dublin. It is a designated Opportunity Site capable of accommodating one or a mix of land uses, which could include retail, office, commercial, tourist, leisure or residential use. Importantly, because of its border location, the site is able to benefit from the patronage of trading catchments in both Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

The cache is a magnetic nano (slightly larger than a typical nano) This is an extremely busy area and stealth will be required to protect the cache from muggles. As with all caches place along our waterways caution should be exercised at all times especially with younger cachers
