Geocache Description:

Another Blue Mountains geocache in an extremely iconic location . . . Echo Point is probably the premier tourist destination in the entire Blue Mountains. The view from here is spectacular and the well-known Scenic World complex is located nearby. There are also souvenir shops and a cafe at GZ. Well worth a visit . . . The Blue Mountains Explorer bus stops near here.

This is arguably the most visited spot in the Blue Mountains! Be prepared for muggles, unless you visit at night (which is not a bad idea at all). Blue Mountains Explorer (BME) tourist buses operate on a regular basis from Katoomba Railway Station, with thirty minute frequencies throughout most of the day, seven days a week. The full day pass has no restrictions. Hop on and hop off at 29 stops around Katoomba and Leura as you please. This means you can plan your day around all the major attractions on offer in the region. The original BME series by wackydo aimed to place a cache at or near most of the stops for those international tourists. Or you can catch the trolley one way down to Echo Point for $2.10. Please state the country or state you are from when logging your find. This will add to the fun . . . Free parking is very hard to find at this end of town, and to insert your geo-car near GZ you'll have to pay for it, unless you're willing to walk a distance from the free parking areas further north and east. (Of course, parking is free after 5pm.) The 'Three Sisters' (or 'Seven Sisters') is an iconic rock formation in the Blue Mountains and is one of the Blue Mountains' best known sites, towering above the Jamison Valley. Their names are Meehni (922 m), Wimlah (918 m), and Gunnedoo (906 m). The Sisters were formed by erosion. The soft sandstone of the Blue Mountains is easily eroded over time by wind, rain and rivers and the cliffs surrounding the Jamison Valley are being slowly broken up. Eventually, sadly, the Sisters will be eroded away completely . . . but probably not in our lifetimes! An Aboriginal legend apparently has it that they were three beautiful young women who had fallen in love with three men from an Aboriginal tribe from the foothills. Tribal lore prohibited the union, and a battle ensued. A witch doctor turned the women to stone so they wouldn’t be harmed, but he was killed and no one could undo the spell. But there are other versions . . . Lately we've been told that the 'sisters' are seven in number, and relate to the Pleiades star constellation . . . This little cache is a true urban cache, secreted quite near (but not at) the bus stop. Once again, international muggles are everywhere! To repeat . . . stopping by GZ during the quiet evening hours (any time after 5pm or so) might be an excellent idea . . . Everything is well-lit and safe and relatively muggle-free, and you can park for free right near GZ. Replacing the cache inconspicuously would be greatly appreciated. Please don't leave it right out in the open for the tourist muggles to grab as a souvenir! EDIT: Cache is NOT hidden in the adjacent rock wall, as in years past. Please don't poke around there, because it can cause damage. I've given a pretty good hint, so this new hide shouldn't be too difficult.
