Geocache Description:

The Great Tug Trent Geocaching Adventure begins!!!

On July 16, 2011, an event  marked  the kick-off to this series, a joint effort between Parks Canada, the Trent Severn Waterway, and the Ontario Geocaching Association. A series of caches, six in total, have been placed along the Trent Severn Waterway in Peterborough, all within a nice walk of the Peterborough Hydraulic Liftlock.

Before you begin, print out a copy of the 'passport', or go to the location of the published co-ordinates of this cache and ask for one. (Regular hours are 10-5, 7 days a week, from the 24th of May weekend, until Thanksgiving.) Once you have your passport, take a nice walk, find the 6 caches in the series, and inside each of those caches is a special punch. Punch the appropriate spot on the passport to fill it out. When you have all the spots filled, return to the listed co-ords for this cache, submit your passport for verification, sign the logbook, and receive a geocoin! (Coins are on a first come, first serve basis. Approximately 500 coins available!!)

NOTE!Sorry the Visitor Centre is closed for the season until spring, keep your passport until then. Put a watch on the cache page for reopening announcements .

These caches are all placed on Parks Canada lands, with their permission and support, and will be maintained by the OGA. As stated in the Parks Canada caching policy, inside each cache is a writeup that explains more about the cache, it's theme, and it's location. Take the time to read it, and enjoy the area. Also, don't forget, don't leave anything in the cache, tradeables are not allowed in Parks Canada caches. (That includes things like signature items too, sorry folks!!)

Passports are available for the series  here in English or French as well you need an insert to stamp at each cache.  English insert. or French insert.
