Rogart station is not only a working station (unmanned) but it is also home to a fascinating hostel, consisting of 3 old railway carriages and an old bus around a beautifully kept flower and veg garden. The cache is NOT in the garden so please don't wander around it... unless you are staying in the hostel, of course). It's a great place to stay. There is a pub just up the road, which serves lunch and evening meals, so everything is on the doorstep. Because of the route of the railway, which goes way inland from Tain to Lairg, and then comes down to the coast again through Rogart to Golspie, the trains arrive at Rogart in seemingly the wrong direction - trains going north to Thurso come from the west and trains going to Inverness comes from the east. Anyway the valley is very lovely and well worth a visit.
