Geocache Description:

Accessible on paved street surface.

Miramar has a lot of old rail spurs and rail docks that connect to the main line, although many of them have been paved over or are simply no longer being used.
This area is adjacent to a wye, a triangular arrangement of track that allows trains to turn or to be rerouted.
Rail was a critical component in the buildup of the Miramar base (Camp Kerny) during WWI, bringing in 65,000 men. The spur and additional warehousing was added during WWII.
Small camo'ed film canister. Log only, bring your own pen.
Congratulations to Ritz Crackers and Geocache Carpenters for co-FTF!
