Geocache Description:

See the famous 'Three Sisters' at Echo Point in Katoomba from an entirely different angle! You can also see them at night. But are there really only three sisters? Some say that there are really seven!

The purpose of this geocache is to bring you to an unofficial lookout at the corner of Willoughby Road and Carlton Road in Leura, NSW, in the beautiful Blue Mountains, where you can look out over the National Park towards 'the Sisters' rock formation at Echo Point in Katoomba, and see them from the opposite side. It's a unique viewpoint and not many people know about this spot.

To your left will be the small Willoughby Road Reserve, with a number of walking trails, in case you want to stretch your legs. There's also a nice frog pond. The initial trail into the reserve, right at GZ, will lead you south along the cliffs, with the Jamison Valley and the Sisters visible to your right.

Aboriginal sources say that these wonderful rocks are related to the Pleiades constellation, visible in both southern and northern skies -- and that there are actually seven sisters!

(Directly ahead of you, toward the Sisters, is a sharp decline, so don't try walking that way!)

This little cache isn't hidden inside the National Park, nor is it located inside the adjacent Willoughby Road Reserve. However, it's very close. Don't go wandering into the bush, and don't venture down the embankment. The hide is nearer the road.

It's almost, but perhaps not quite, wheelchair accessible.

Enjoy the view!
