Geocache Description:

This cache is located on the edge of Kenilworth Common, only a few yards from Finham Brook and a few feet east of the railway bridge.
Limited parking is available in Woodmill Meadow, with additional parking located in Forge Road.
Access to the cache area at both sites is via a footbridge over the Brook into the Common.

The cache site is located near the intersection of the Finham Brook and the Coventry to Leamington Spa railway line.

Just to the West of the railway bridge is a flat area of land formerly owned by Mr Henry Street. This section of the Common, and the land opposite, was the site of Street's Fellmonger works (a trade which separated the wool from the pelts of sheepskin) from 1855. Originally the site was located solely on the South Bank of Finham brook (the current site of Woodmill Meadow and formerly Stickley's Scrap Yard), with the North Bank being occupied by a small plantation. From 1871 Street expanded his works across into the plantation on the north side of the brook. The Wool Drying shed on the North Bank stood Until the repurposing of Stickley's Scrap Yard into the Woodmill Meadow estate.
