Geocache Description:

Welcome to Kelowna's newest park and statue. No need to leave the paths, cache is easily accessible without leaving the concrete. Micro is the smallest choice but it is really a nano!

A cache planted to bring you to the newest jewel on Kelowna's waterfront so please be respectful and stay on the paths. This is a micro cache and it no longer has a log. Record your find on geocachging.com. No need to leave the sidewalks, or stairs, cache can be reached easily from the concrete. We've given it a 2 difficulty and will adjust if logs indicate it is harder than we think. (Aug/11 Adjusted to 2.5) High muggle area so lots of stealth will be required. Also visible from City Hall so you never know who's watching... The park is open between 6 AM and 11 PM. "Bear" was installed in September 2010, in conjunction with the grand opening of Stuart Park, which was named for former long-term Kelowna Mayor James Stuart. Designed by Rhode Island, USA, artist, Brower Hatcher, Bear is a tribute to Kelowna's settlement on the shores of Okanagan Lake. The theme of the art work is a grizzly bear: "Kelowna" being an English translation of the Okanagan/Syilx first nation word for "female grizzly bear". Within Bear's body are objects that represent periods of Kelowna's history. The boat-like shape is a reference to the role the lake has played in the evolution of the community and the shaping of its identity.
