This cache is in a spectacular, little visited section of woods in Girdwood. There are some large glacial boulders in the area, which makes this little piece of rainforest my favorite in Girdwood.
Start at the end of Virgin Creek Dr. There are two somewhat overgrown but pretty trails that start from the end of this road: one trail goes to this ("Virgin Glen") cache, and the other goes to the "Virgin Creek" cache. A summer trail map of Girdwood is available at http://www.muni.org/Departments/parks/Documents/GWSummerTrlMap.pdf This cache is about five minutes in along the trail not on the map. The cache is within 50 yards of the trail. However, the area is very "jungly" with a lot of underbrush and a few very large boulders, so use care in searching for the cache. However, the cache is not in a dangerous location. Suitable for kids if you keep a close eye on them.
