We decided to make and place our first cache in honor of my father who passed on December 24th 2010 at 11:20am from a massive heart attack. He lived in a remote area so he couldn't get to someone who could help him until after two hospitals and a life flight finally landed him in the right place. He was a fighter, when he got there the doctor still thought he could be saved. Before they put him under they asked him to think of his most favorite calming and comfortable place in the world, and he said "Graham Creek." Unfortunately when the doctors opened him up it was too late to save him or bring him back from the anesthesia. The one comfort I have is knowing he passed while thinking about his favorite place in the world.
I camped up here with him many many times and we always had a blast. He would stay here without leaving for 6 months or more at one time. Of course the Forest Service would come sometimes and make him leave camp for a few days because there are certain laws about how long you can camp in one place. So he would leave for the minimum amount of days and be right back. His favorite spot is very close to here between the nearest bathroom and the river. He always told me that when he died he wanted me to bring him up here and throw him in the river LOL! Obviously I couldn't do that but I did the next best thing with his ashes. He was a good man and he tried the best he could as a father and I love him and will miss him forever.
For now you'll have to bring your own writing stick because I forgot to put a pen inside. If anyone could leave a pen in it for me I would really appriciate it. I would even reimburse you a doller if your comfortable with providing me a mailing address lol! There are a few small items in there for trade a logbook and a picture of my dad along with a disposable camera. The little blue micro machine Honda car actually belonged to my dad. He had it becuase he had owned a couple cars exactly like that. Also the little wooden chip was placed in there by his fiancee, but all items are up for trade except the disposable camera. We left he disposable camera for you to take a picture of youselves, your camp, your vehicle or whatever you want so that we can see the people who found our first hidden cache. So feel free to take some pictures but PLEASE put the camera back, thank you.
Like I've said a couple of times before, this is our first hide. So we would love any kind of positive criticism you want to provide. About the difficulty level, terrian, coordinates or anything you would like to share your input on. The tree cover might make your GPS go a little crazy so thats why we left a very descriptive hint. If you can get within 150 feet the hint will provide the rest of the info you need. HAPPY CACHING!!!!
