A tiny cache in the historic market town of Royston.
This is a part of the town in which I seem to find myself on a regular basis so it seemed appropriate to pop a cache here.
The cache is located on Market Hill.
The market has been in Royston for over 800 years after King Richard I granted a local order of monks the first market rights in 1189. This "selling market on Wednesday in every week at Roys Cross" has survived through the ages. It was a very important livestock exchange until the mid-20th century and would have bustled with all manner of fowl, sheep and cattle.
The town supported over 50 public houses at the turn of the 19th century several of which survive and represent some interesting 15th and 16th century architecture.
The road at the top (south) end of Market Hill is the A10 running north from London and can get very busy. Please be careful whilst searching for this cache.
This area can also be full of muggles at various times of day so stealth is required. BYOP.
Grats to Alan1968 for FTF!
