Vetal is the most powerful Ghost and resides on the boundaries of two or more villages. But this place is the boundary of five villages named Kothrud, Bhamburda, Aundh, Baner and Pashan (Now they all are part of Pune City). A beautiful stone (and ancient) carved (photo attached) showing the pinpoint boundary that still exists here. .
Abide the local rules i.e. no Foot wears allowed in the temple and no women are allowed in the temple (because this is a ghost temple). This Vetal Tekadi (Hill) is the only place in Pune City to breathe some fresh air. People come here daily for morning and evening walk. Planted densely with small trees and maintained by the Forest Department, Pune-Corporation and people voluntarily. Geocachers will love and enjoy the visit. I wish to recommend you the time between 4am and 9am or 5pm and 7pm when there are lots of people there, rest of the time it is lonely so don't go alone. There is one automotive research Centre in one corner called ARAI. You can take your bike/car up to the Parking lot in the above mentioned time only. Otherwise you can climb the hill from any point, any time.
