Most people end their evening walk at this point. This is a ‘Vetal Hill’, (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vetal_Hill_in_Pune). Fresh South-West wind, beautiful Sunset view (particularly when it is cloudy, changing colors in the sky, the orange sun), birds in the quarry, sometimes ducks are seen swimming if there is water in it. Early morning people come here for exercises, yoga and pranayam. Youths sometimes are seen doing little rock-climbing, photography, bird watching, kids enjoy throwing little pebbles in the quarry.
Geocachers will love and enjoy the visit. I wish to recommend you the time between 5am and 9am or 5pm and 7pm when there are lots of people there, rest of the time it is lonely so don't go alone. There is one automotive research Centre in one corner called ARAI. You can take your bike/car up to the Parking lot in the above mentioned time only. Otherwise you can climb the hill from any point, any time.
Let the people watch everything but not you, you are on mission to find my Geocache! : )
