zzcarina: Thank you for all the nice comments we had the past 5 years! It was great to meet the many cachers, not only at GZ (the church grounds) but also at events. (Toowoomba)
Due to moving out of the area and not be able to maintain the cache that has been muggled several times now, it's time to give another cacher the chance to hide a cache here.

Non-Denominational Church Mount Whitestone. This tiny little church at Mount Whitestone opened its doors in 1894, after local lady Isabella Philp, in the early 1890's being concerned for all religious denominations about the lack of a place to worship in the area, wrote home to relatives in Scotland for their help. The relatives in Scotland rallied and as a result the little church was built. In the earlier days, the church was used by the Salvation Army as Sunday school. Later the Methodists took over and ran the Sunday school. Sunday school then lapsed for some years to be restarted by the Church of Christ in 1943. They were followed by the Congregational Church who taught until 1992. After that, the mothers of the district combined and a Christian Kids' Club was formed. Throughout the years, the little church has been used extensively but now rests virtually unused. The grounds around the church have been landscaped recently and if funds allow, it wil be repainted. The big retaining timbers arround the flower beds are the old pillars from the former bridge over dry creek. Behind the church is an old dunny/outhouse with an old thunder box. It would be nice to show your young geo-cach-kiddies how an old outhouse looked like in the past. Cache is a plastic container with loads of swap-thingies for kids. Parking: Church grounds.
