Geocache Description:

At this peaceful place you can picnic or walk to Cascades Creek for a refreshing swim. In the past aboriginal people used the rocky overhangs in this area as wet season camp sites. Local plants provided not only 'bush tucker' (food) but medicines, tools, weapons, fibers and dyes.
The quickest way to Cascade Creek is via the 2.6 klm return medium grade walking track to the lower cascades (Curtain Falls), however the track is closed during the wet season due to flooding and the increased risk of crocodiles.
Or you can take the 3.6 klm return medium grade walking track to the upper cascades. This track takes you up onto the tabletop plateau where several vantage points provide sweeping views of the lowlands below. The walk is exposed and can be hot so take some water.
Swimming is generally possible during the dry season in the many small pools along the cascades walk but the Lower Cascades and Curtain Falls are closed during the wet due to flooding and crocs.
Picnic tables and toilets are available and access to the picnic area and car park is via a sealed road just a few hundred meters off the main road.

The cache is a Nano so you will need to bring your own pen and please fill in the log with just your initials and no need to enter a date as room on the log is at a premium also stealth will be required as there can be many muggles enjoying the facilities with you.
