Bridge Closed Ahead

Watch out! Bridge closed ahead!


Once upon a time this bridge connected these two sections of Red Bank Rd. from the industrial area to the residential area, but now it lies unused, abandoned and blocked off.

Was it closed temporarily to be fixed and then forgotten about? Was it too expensive to fix? Was it simply not needed any more? Why was it just blocked off but never taken down?

We may never know the answers to these questions, but fortunately to get the cache we don't need to.

You do not need to leave the pavement or go beyond the fence to get this cache.



UPDATE! - Although seemingly forgotten, in May 2013, they came in and destroyed the old overgrown bridge and left the big gaping hole. It's not near as interesting as the old bridge with trees actually growing in the middle, but it's still unusual.
