The Burnie Burrowing Crayfish (Engaeus yabbimunna) was first discoverd in the Burnie Park in 1994. It only lives in the Burnie and Wynyard areas and needs an undisturbed habitat with clean water. They eat decaying plants and bugs. Although they are rarely seen check out the creek upstream from the cache and you may be lucky.
The cache container is a magnetic eclipse tin and contains a log and pencil.
Beware of muggles. The playground and bbq facilities are well used, especially in summer.
