Diesen Cache haben wir während unseres Italien-Urlaubs 2011 gelegt. Er liegt, wie unser Campingplatz, an der "Via delle Batterie" und wir haben uns immer gefragt, was der Name dieser Straße bedeutet!
Der italienische Begriff "Batterie" bezieht sich auf die vielen Militärstellungen in der Gegend, die gebaut wurden um anfangs die Herrlichkeiten der Serenissima und während der zwei Weltkriege den Hafen, das Waffenlager und das Industriezentrum zu schützen.

We have placed this cache during our vacation in Italy 2011. It lies, as our campground, at the "Via delle Batterie" and we have always asked ourselves, what does the name of this street mean!
The Italian term "Batterie" refers to the many military positions in the area, which were initially built to protect the glories of the Serenissima and during the two world wars of the harbor, the weapon warehouse and industrial center.

Abbiamo messo la cache durante la nostra vacanza in Italia 2011. Si trova, come il nostro campeggio, al "Via delle batterie", e ci siamo sempre chiesto, che cosa fa il nome di questa via!
Il termine italiano "batteria" si riferisce alle molte posizioni militari nella zona, che erano inizialmente costruite per proteggere le glorie della Serenissima e durante le due guerre mondiali del porto, il magazzino di armi e centro industriale.
