Benson Brook - Millbrook Mead Traditional Cache

This cache is placed next to Benson Brook, between St Helen's Avenue and the A4074. A lovely peaceful spot, apart from the constant traffic noise! Most people driving along the main road probably have no idea that this place exists.

The path is used a lot by Benson residents as there is a tunnel under the main road... much safer than trying to cross the road by the marina.

The suggested parking is in St Helen's Avenue at the entrance to the allotments. From there you need to bear right past the compost heap - the path leads down to the brook.

The cache is opposite the Cuckoo Pen Nursery (which is closed this year "due to serious maintenance issues"). Please rehide the cache exactly as you find it.

Having found the cache, we recommend that you follow the path under the main road (definitely not wheelchair-friendly I'm afraid) to Millbrook Mead, a small nature reserve with lots of insects, butterflies etc. The boardwalks were replaced a few years ago, making it much safer for small children but perhaps not quite so much fun! You then emerge in Preston Crowmarsh, a short walk from Benson Lock.

BREAKING NEWS... 23rd April 2013... The little nursery, which has been closed for about three years, is due to re-open at the beginning of May! You will obviously need to be more discreet if there are more muggles around. Why not combine your geocaching with a bit of plant-buying?!
