A pleasant spot to stop and take in views of Lake Harry
The Birdsville Track runs north from Maree to Birdsville and passes through the Sturt Stony Desert. It is an extremely remote region and is strikingly beautiful in its harshness.
Lake Harry is an ephemeral lake on the Birdsville Track. On the days we past the lake was full and was within 50m of the track. The water was blue and looked very inviting. If the temperature was warmer than 12C we might have been tempted.
Please check road conditions and follow the safety practices for outback travel. Your vehicle should be properly prepared with suitable spares, food and water.
