Geocache Description:

My first cache! Cache is a pill bottle. If one cannot go down stairs it is best to approach the cache from the West or the North. The cache is *not* on private property. Scenic view at the top of the stairs. To avoid disturbing the neighbors, this cache is not recommended at night. For safety reasons, it is rated winter incompatible.

Cache initially contained log book, pencil and some flyers.

Congradulations on Geonerding for FTF.

Note: On 2014/04/27, one geocacher reported "Be careful... Lots of drug needles in the area". There has been 253 log entries thus far and I don't recall a simillar report neither do I recall seeing needles during my visits. I don't know if the geocachcer was referring to GZ or a larger area. If you do note needles at GZ please note it here on line and I will deactivate the cache until further investigation.

The nearby religious building is owned I believe by the "Pères dominicains d'Ottawa". From wikipedia:

The Order of Preachers (Latin: Ordo Praedicatorum), after the 15th century more commonly known as the Dominican Order or Dominicans, is a Catholic religious order founded by Saint Dominic and approved by Pope Honorius III (1216–27) on 22 December 1216 in France. Membership in the Order includes friars,[1] nuns, congregations of active sisters, and lay persons affiliated with the order (formerly known as tertiaries, now Lay or Secular Dominicans).

Members of the order generally carry the letters O.P. standing for Ordinis Praedicatorum, meaning of the Order of Preachers, after their names.

Founded to preach the Gospel and to combat heresy, the order is famed for its intellectual tradition, having produced many leading theologians and philosophers. The Dominican Order is headed by the Master of the Order, who is currently Father Bruno Cadoré.[5]
