Geocache Description:

An Event sponsored by the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority. This year’s event will be held on Sunday August 28th at Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area with various activities to enjoy. There will be 15 new caches INCLUDING 3 CANOE CACHES. Meet other Geocachers, enjoy the wetlands, discover new caches. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Please bring your own lunch.

WHEN:

Sunday August 28, 2011- 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

WHERE

Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area is a 10 minute drive from the Bluewater Bridge so cachers from both sides of the border will be more than welcome. (exit at Airport Road and head south. Turn right on London Line, then right at the lights onto Blackwell Side Road. Cross back over the 402. WWCA is just ahead on the left. Follow signs for parking.

WHAT TO BRING:

Please be prepared for the weather. There is one picnic shelter. Please bring your GPS cord to download coords from the lap top. (Previous download problems have been resolved.) Washroom facilities are ‘aka an outhouse’

COST

Suggested $5.00 donation to help cover the cost of the facilities and canoe rentals. Prize table items will be gratefully accepted at the event.

FOR NEWCOMERS

New Geocachers can register for an instructional session.

EQUIPMENT LENDING

A few Garmin e-trex Legends will be available to borrow for this event in exchange for valid Photo Identification.

SPECIAL FEATURE

Paddle to 3 Caches: Canoes and safety equipment to be supplied on day of event only.

NOTES:

Ticks have been identified in the wetlands area. Long sleeves and long pants are suggested. Insect repellent with 10% Deet is also recommended
