This is a cache a mere stone's throw from a fine car park and a beautiful view! It's not all so easy though and the terrain close to the cache is tricky, could be very slippy if it's been raining.
The cache is a regular sized lunchbox with a healthy dose of cammo tape to keep it stealthy. Contents include all the essentials plus a little family activity to help you explore this beautiful beach. Take the opportunity to explore Lugger's grotto at 50 20' 49.69"N 4 15' 35.01"W. The cave was carved out by hand by a man called Lugger as a cure for Gout. He carved poetry into the roof and walls of the cave, most of which remains but some was lost when part of the roof collapsed. The area was also used as a Pilchard processing plant. Boats landed in the naturally deep inlets and unloaded their precious cargos here. The square cutouts in the rock are evidence of this. If you enjoy this cache, why not look out for others devised by Countryside Rangers from the National Trust.
