Geocache Description:


Located at Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Salem Headquarters. This cache can be found without entering the building, but during normal working hours you are welcome to come inside. Brochures are available in the lobby on a variety of topics including hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Staff are available to answer your fish and wildlife questions. A variety of stuffed native wildlife and animal pelts are on display inside the building.

This is one of several caches at ODFW facilities. You can also get a smiley at GCP19E (John Day) & GC1BGQQ (The Dalles). This cache was placed with management permission. You are not trespassing if you are geocaching here.

ODFW’s mission is to protect and enhance Oregon’s fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations.

During the winter, you might want to wear boots to avoid the water hazard. This cache is not accessible from Salem Parkway.

Update: ODFW Headquarters will be moving to a new location in 2013. This cache will be archived shortly before the move.
