The Sharp Street Roll of Honour is one of the few remaining 'street shrines' dedicated to those from Hull who served and died in the First World War. Initially set up to acknowledge those who had enlisted, they soon became monuments to those who had died.
By 1916 with the war dragging on and casualties always increasing enthusiasm for the shrines waned; new ones were no longer being placed and existing ones were not updated.
Of all the street shrines placed around Hull only two remain, the other being down Hessle Road. Many were lost in the slum clearances in the years following the war.
The cache is not on the monument but is close by and the coordinates are pointing to the cache itself. Bring a pen.
