Geocache Description:

The co-ords above are for the middle of a nearby park. You do not have to visit this location. There is a cache, just bigger than a 35mm film canister, hidden within 700m.

This is the first in a new series of puzzle caches that I am hiding, which will all include a Japanese puzzle. I myself am a huge fan of these puzzles, and find them a lot more interesting than the typical wordsearch, or crossword.

What makes these puzzles so good is that they can be solved by logic alone. No knowledge is required (apart from how to solve the puzzles), and very few mathematical skills are needed.

The best part about the puzzles though is that, once completed, it forms a pixel image. As you work through the puzzle the image should slowly take shape.

Enigma is probably the easiest of all the puzzles. The puzzle is basically a grid of numbers. Every number, except for the 1’s, is half of a pair. The object is to link the pairs and colour in the paths so that the number of squares in the path, including the squares at the ends, equals the value of the clues being linked together.

For example, you must link together two of the number 4, in 4 squares.
1's are on there own, and can just be coloured in straight away.
Paths can only go horizontally or vertically between squares... Never diagonally, and no two paths can either cross, or share a square.

Here's a short tutorial...

Here are the two puzzles you must solve. Once finished, you will have two pictures to answer the questions on.

A,B and C are about the first puzzle. D, E and F are about the second.

A = Amount of windows +1
B = Amount of letters in the person's name divided by 2
C = Amount of squares coloured in on the top row -1

D = Amount of squares coloured in on the leftmost column
E = Amount of white pixels for his eye -1
F = Amount of letters in his first name +1

The cache can be found at N 50° 49.ABC W 000° 12.DEF

PLEASE NOTE: The high Terrain rating is because you will have to climb a very steep hill. If this is slippery, getting to the cache will be very hard. Please make sure to wear appropriate footwear.
