Came looking for the now archived nearby cache Beyond Us - GC2ZAWF. Didn't find it and didn't realize it was archived until I checked my smart phone. So I wanted to fill a nearby spot with a cache.
Struggled with the name of this cache. Settled on "White Pine Cache". Could have been "A Glint From The Corner of His Eye". (Seems like ghs never finds a cache unless he sees it from the corner of his eye!) Could have been "Dedicated to ghs Cache". Maybe "Archived Cache Replacement". How about "Beyond Us 2"? Even thought of "I Don't Care Cache!".
This cache is dedicated to ghs. His logs just crack me up! And he is one good geocacher.
I love white pines. The eastern white pine has the distinction of being the tallest tree in eastern North America. In natural pre-colonial stands it is reported - not documented - to have grown to as tall as 70 meters (230 ft). White pines have been used for ship masts, Christmas Trees, and of course lumber. I personally see a beauty in their needle and cone formation, especially when bathed in sunlight.
Hopefully this cache won't be Beyond You. And I Really Don't Care if the log is wet or the cover is missing. Bring your own replacement! LOL
Just have fun!
