Geocache Description:

Kilometre 105.6 on the #2 Hwy.

The Whitehorse Trough is a Mesozoic sedimentary basin that extends from the Yukon Territory – British Columbia border 650 kilometres northward to Carmacks and stretching from Teslin westward to Whitehorse. Many years ago volcanic mud flows extended several kilometres long, about 1 kilometre wide and 100 kilometres thick. Other rocks became cemented in the volcanic mud forming puddingstone, otherwise known as conglomerate rock. The puddingstone is said to derive from a resemblance of this stone to Christmas pudding.
