In the spring of 1900 there is now a continuous line of rails linking Cranbrook and Kimberley. The Cranbrook Papers, of the time, state "Cranbrook extends the glad hand to the people of Kimberley, and congratulates them on the fact that now they are now in direct communication with the outside world. Kimberley will grow.
