In Spring of 1899 the Cranbrook Courier reports on the C.P.R. stockholder's meeting.

"Action is being taken on the question of building the branch to North Star and Sullivan mines. It was stated this week (April 16, 1899) by a railway official who should know, that there was no longer any doubt but that the branch would be built this summer, and furthermore that it would be built from Cranbrook."
