Geocache Description:

A micro cache hidden close to a footpath. Area is frequented by dog walkers.

The community of Seven Sisters (or Blaendulais in welsh) was formed around the opening of a coal mine of the same name in 1875. Named by the co-owner Evan-Evans in respect of his one son and seven daughters. At its peak in 1945 the colliery employed over 759 men from the surrounding area. Although Seven Sisters Colliery closed in May 1963, there are still many active opencasts mines in operation
today.

The playing fields are located on reclaimed waste area from the colliery.

Congratulations to AeronandArchie on the FTF.
