Minnie Pearl Shenanigans

What, you ask, is a“Pup-Ceañera?”

We all know that a girl’s Quinceañera (15th birthday party) is a major event in her life. Since the ratio of dog-to-human years is typically noted as 7:1, their 2nd birthday would make them 14 in human years – hence a “Pup-Ceañera!”

October 23rd marks my little Chiweenie Pearl’s 2nd birthday.

It also marks one year that I have had her. She has since become my official assistance animal, and as cheesy as this may sound–I am so blessed to have her.

She calms me down and gives me something to focus my attention on. I love to baby her, and by doing so, I forget about the stresses and anxieties of everyday life.

You can’t help but smile when you see her huge adorable ears and goofy smile (YES dogs smile). She is always eager to see people and just wants to show you love and give you kisses. Now that I have her, I can’t imagine what I did without her.

Many people have said that she looks like Yoda, Gizmo, Doby (from Harry Potter), and the Flying Nun. But I think she's just plain adorable.

To celebrate her birthday, come join us for a potluck party! Bring your favorite dish to share and your own non-alcoholic drink.

DOGS WELCOME!

POOCH PARADE AT 1 P.M.

If you bring your pooch, be sure to bring along their costume for the Pooch Parade! The Pooch Parade will commence at 1 p.m. sharp. After the “parade,” all in attendance will vote on the costumes and the winners (both pooch and owner) will receive a prize.

As an incentive, each cacher that brings a costumed dog to participate in the parade will receive a special surprise! You may bring more than one costumed dog if you wish, but each cache name will only receive one surprise.

If you choose to bring your four-legged friend, PLEASE adhere to the guidelines below:

- Ensure your dog is well-behaved, social, and able to be around other dogs and children.
- All dogs must be on a leash.

- Pick up after your animal. I will have bags available if needed.

- Be sure to bring water for your dog. I am planning on having several water bowls available for all dogs in attendance to use.

Come celebrate with us! You’re sure to have a doggoned good time! Rain or shine. Please post what you intend to bring to the potluck so that I can plan accordingly. Also - if you are bringing a contestant for the Pooch Parade, please indicate it in your post so I can make sure I have enough incentive surprises for all participating.
