Nuttallia Obscurata (the Purple Varnish Clam), an invasive spp., was first observed in B.C. in the early 90's and spread in the Puget Sound by the late 90's.
You can get the Jetty ferry now to Sept 5, 7 days a week. Ferry free but donations are accepted.
Or make it adventurous and paddle over.
Fine place to catch the setting sun and watch para gliders shoot across the water.
