You are looking for a small pill bottle with small trade items. The coordinates were taken with a Garmin GPSmap 60CSx but may differ from yours. You don't need to go up the hill and into the woods.
Harvey Couch, the founder of Entergy, our electric company, dreamed of building hydroelectric dams so he built Carpenter Dam to provide electric power during periods of peak consumption.
Carpenter Dam was named by Couch in honor of his longtime friend Flave Carpenter. Carpenter steamed up and down the Ouachita River as a riverboat captain for many years after the Civil War and later became a farmer and businessman in Arkadelphia. It was Carpenter who first suggested the Ouachita River's hydroelectric possibilities to Couch and guided him on trips up the river to survey possible dam locations.
Construction was finished in 1931. 80 years later Flave's young great great grandsons became avid geocachers and this is named in their honor.
