Geocache Description:

Time to check your accuracy.

I set this mark a few years ago with permission from the township and in conjuntion with the Michigan Society of Professional Surveyors. This mark was created as a reference mark for recreational GPS users to compare the accuracy of hand held GPS devices.

I established the mark to sub centimeter accuracy utilizing the Michigan Spatial reference system and survey grade GPS receivers, but the coordinates displayed are truncated.

This marker contains a match container with a log book. You will need to bring a pencil to log your visit.

Enjoy the playground equipment while you check the accuracy of your device.

UPDATE: 01-April-2015
A special trackable has been placed at this location in recognition of National Surveyors Week 2015. Good luck to the first to recover. The visitors log has been replaced.
