Geocache Description:

The SQ in the cache name above signifies Spirit Quest, a series of Geocaches that distinguish caches that are set in cemeteries or memorial gardens (or other places of memorial interest). Many of us feel this is a good distinction to put on this type of cache and we like to do these types of caches. Please be respectful of the area, and observe their rules and posted hours.

Michigan law states that you are only permitted to visit cemeteries dawn to dusk (Daylight Hours or when Cemetery Hours are posted) throughout the state unless other hours are posted.

The series was started in NorthWest Ohio and It has since expanded across the United States and into Canada as well.  The series is designed to differentiate the listing as having more meaning, and for those who seek them a moment and to pause, and reflect on things, even if for only a moment, on those who have gone before and are at their final rest.

As always, please be respectful if anyone is visiting family-members here.  Thank You.

I will leave this virtual candle lit in memory of my sister.

This puzzle and final-cache are located within the
Crestwood Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The final Cache is NOT at the posted coordinates.

For those that do not know, I am the oldest of three children.  My two younger siblings and I didn't always get-along, but i did my best to look-after them whenever possible, as most older-siblings are known to do.  There were many disagreements, fights, and arguments, but I always loved my sisters and tried to protect them no matter what.

Unfortunately, no matter what you do sometimes, some things are beyond ones control.

The older of my two younger siblings made some choices in her life that were not the best, as well as choosing some folks to be around that were not the best influence.

In her teenage years, my sister went through many tough-times...various good and bad.  Unfortunately, things would take a turn for the worst and and i was not able to protect her as I would have liked.

She passed away in January of 1992, a few short months before her 20th birthday.

It was (and is) devastating to all of us who loved and knew her.  I'm sure her spirit still remains with us... as our thoughts of her are never far away.

Because I believe she would've enjoyed Geocaching, I've dedicated this somewhat-challenging puzzle to her memory.

My sister at approx age 8-9 (1980-81)

The Second Stage is my sisters final resting place.  Please be respectful of this.  Thank you.

-- Stage One --

At the beginning of your journey for this puzzle, you will find a Feature with a phrase inscribed upon it.  You will take the third word of the phrase, subtract the amount of letters in that word from the North Coordinates.  You will take the second word of the phrase, add the amount of letters to the West Coordinates.  This will take you to an in-ground headstone which will be the Second stage.

-- Stage Two --

You will need to count the letters in the first name (letters-only) of the individual buried here.  Then count the letters in the first word of the phrase at the bottom of this marker.  You will be adding those two counts together, and subtracting that count from your CURRENT north coordinates.
You will then take the LAST word of the phrase at the bottom of the headstone and count those letters.  Subtract that number from your CURRENT West Coordinates.

You MUST find-and-sign the cache-log in order to be able to log this find.

Good Luck and thank you for visiting.
