Stairway to Nowhere: "Boom"docks Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Desmond_In_Asylum: This is a great location for a cache, but I have not been maintaining this cache. So I think that it is better that I Archive it, and have someone else use the location or somewhere close by.

Geocache Description:

A small lock 'n lock next to the Fraser River.

The second in my series of Stairways to Nowhere. At this one you can see the log booms that come down and are tied on both sides of the Fraser River nearby. The booms have been present on the river since the 1930's. You can often see several booms being towed by a single tugboat. The area is also popular with fishermen.

The structure is a water outlet for runoff from the nearby ditches and the cranberry fields across the street which need to be flooded for harvesting.

There is good parking right beside. Please use caution in wet weather as the stairs may be slippery.

There is a lotto scratch ticket for the FTF to make their fortune.
