My first WherIGo and the first WherIGo in the area, this cache will take you on a 10-home tour of the historic North Hill of New Castle, PA.
You will need to download the "New Castle North Hill Historic District" cartridge from wherigo.com in order to find this cache. You can use the "Related Web Page" link near the top of this page to go directly to the cartridge page. You will need a WherIGo compatible GPS device or Smart Phone to run the cartridge.
The posted location is not the hiding place of the cache, but rather recommended parking for this WherIGo. You may park anywhere on the North Hill to begin your journey.
New Castle was laid out in 1802 and by the late 19th century was one of America’s fastest growing cities and the International center of the tin-plate industry. Many New Castle luminaries and industrialists settled and built their homes upon the North Hill. The North Hill District of New Castle, PA entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1999 and hosts some of the most stunning classic structures in the region.
The full tour will have you walking approximately 1 mile around the North Hill District with some inclines. Please wear appropriate footwear.
