Funny story...there are 2 (TWO) survey markers in this field! **Update 2012-08-28** Funnier story, this survey marker and the cache went AWOL this summer. Replacement cache now placed.**
I (BigR) headed out early to tackle the Mt. Lipsett caches and faithfully followed the 'start at the survey marker with the boulders' direction. Funny I said to myself, there is the survey marker and those boulders are kind of medium... Hmm, I thought that this would be a more developed trail.
I even came back to the parking area to check and the medium boulders convinced me I was going the right way. When I finally route picked my way to the 'real' trail I realized that I definitely on the wrong starting trail.
After a most excellent hike to the top of Mt. Lipsett I removed a spare (thank you courgarman70) medium sized green bison tube from my pack to mark my error for all to see.
You are looking for a camo'd match stick container with only a paper log (bring a pen/cil) where you SHOULD NOT start your trek up the Mt. Lipsett trail. ;)
