Greatland Reviewer: Hello:

This cache page has been archived due to the lack response to one or more prior Reviewer Note(s) about issue(s) with the cache. If the owner would like to have the cache unarchived, please contact me through my profile as soon as possible before another cache gets placed nearby.

Please note that unarchiving a cache page requires it to go through the same review process as a newly proposed cache, using the cache placement guidelines currently in effect.

Geocache Description:

Your challenge: there are a few ways to get to the last staircase. You'll need to climb over at least one railing and ignore a few danger signs in the process; keep that in mind if you are bringing kids along. The terrain is otherwise easy and paved.

So please be very careful, especially if you go via the top of the waterfall, and
don't go on rough days. I recommend going when the tide is LOW so you can access the cache! It can get very hot during the day, and swimming is not permitted.

This is my first cache hide, ever! The coordinates may not be 100% accurate but they will certainly take you near GZ, at least, where you can search using the hint.

The GZ is at the side of a small inlet on Hong Kong island's rocky west shore, which is a popular spot for wedding photography. There are fishermen passing by, but
as they fish on the shores, they should not be a problem.
One can explore the grassy area on the cliff, the rock pools, and the small fishes in the waterfall. If you're a lichen lover like I am, there are plenty of coastal specimens to marvel over. I hope you like the area.

The cache is a small, plastic box (Lock & Lock). It's stuffed full of trinkets at the time of hiding so if you'd like to put travel bugs or geocoins in, you'll have to take some of them out. The logbook is 'hand-made'.

PLEASE WRITE DOWN AN INSPIRATIONAL/YOUR FAVOURITE QUOTATION BEFORE COMING TO THE CACHE, and slip it into the ziplock bag with the logbook! You can also write it in the log-book. I'd like it to be a positive little box of quotes; I have put in a few of my own favourites by Albus Dumbledore from the Harry Potter series, among others.

According to Wikipedia,
"Waterfall Bay (Chinese: ???, Jyutping: buk6 bou3 waan1, Pinyin: Pùbùwan) is a bay on the coast of Wah Fu Estate, Southern District, Hong Kong.
"It is long believed that the waterfall attracted British ships coming to Hong Kong to fetch fresh water after long journey. Some stated that this water was so sweet that the harbour it flowed into also turned sweet, thus gave rise to the name "Hong Kong", meaning "fragrant harbour" in Chinese based on the pronunciation in Cantonese. This theory, however, is less credible than others."

Thank you AirQ for the additional history of the very fascinating ruins at GZ!
"The higher one is a searchlight facility of coast defense (1930s),
"The lower one may be a former pillbox (these change a lot from time to time, and this is not like other remaining pillboxes apart from the distinctive circular opening in the roof)."

If you're coming with anyone, I'd recommend walking down to Cyberport and through the park after the cache. It's very nice, especially during the sunset, and there is a good breeze. There're also BBQ areas near the stairs going to the cache and you can bring lunch if you'd like to eat on the rocks near the back of beach. Wah Fu is very close, and I'm sure there are places to eat there, too.
