Geocache Description:

This is a short leg off the main trail.

The are several areas in San Antonio that provide great opportunities to combine two of my favorite sports, biking and geocaching, and go cycle-caching. The City of San Antonio is completing several linear parks along Leon Creek and Salado Creek. The Leon Creek trail extends from Loop 1604 in the north to Ingram Rd. in the south. This is about 12.7 miles and there are dozens of hides along the trail. Some are easily accessible from the trail and others are in the bush along the creek.
This little series follows Leon Creek from Grissom Rd. to Ingram Rd. This is about a two mile stretch and is best done on a bike, unless you would enjoy a four mile round trip hike. Most of the hides are within 50 feet of the paved trail. Little or no bushwacking is required.
Parking is available at either the Grissom Rd. trailhead or Ingram/Nortwestern parking lot, depending on where you begin your trek. There is also parking at the Mainland/Bandera Rd. trailhead, if you want to begin there and pick up the hides in the series between Bandera and Grissom.
