Die Babisnauer Pappel wurde 1808 von dem Gutsbesitzer Johann Gottlieb Becke als Grenzmarkierung gepflanzt. Die Schwarzpappel ist von vielen Standorten in Dresden und Umgebung aus zu sehen und deshalb eine klassische Landmarke. 1890 wird neben der Pappel noch eine Eiche, die sogenannte Bismarck-Eiche gepflanzt. Der sehr schöne Blick ist von dem 1999 neu erbauten Aussichtsturm (der bisher vierte Turm seit 1885) noch besser und man kann das gesamte Umland – Dresdner Elbtalkessel, Sächsische Schweiz – überblicken.

Eigentlich wollte ich es mit dem Kompass erledigen, aber man hat mir von einer Materialschlacht abgeraten. Davon abgesehen möchte ich die Kompassverwender hinweisen, dass auf der Plattform, bei hinreichendem Abstand zum Metall, Abweichungen bis zu 15° aufgetreten sind. Also wenn euer Kleiner am nächsten Tag mal keine Geometrie in der Schule hat, sollte er mal den Winkelmesser rausrücken. Verwendet diesen jedoch, wie ihr den Kompass einsetzen würdet!

English version: The “Babisnauer Pappel” was planted 1808 by the landowner Johann Gottlieb Becke as a boundary mark. At many positions in Dresden and environment the black poplar is to see and therefore a classical landmark. 1890, in addition to the poplar, they planted the so called Bismarck-oak tree. The beautiful view is from the 1999 newly-built lookout tower (the fourth tower since 1885) even better and you can overview the entire surrounding area - Dresden, Saxon Switzerland.

Normally I would prepare this for using compass, but good parts are expensive. Additional for the "hard compass user", on the view point with enough distance to the metal, exist deviance up to 15°.
This means when your child have no geometry on the next day in school, than it should give away the angle-blade. Use the angle-blade real how you use normally a compass!
